Icons are now converted as follows: `(/)` to ✔, `(x)` to ❌, `(!)` to ❗, `(+)` to ➕, `(-)` to ➖, `(off)` to 🌙, and `(*)` to ☆. The new icons render well in most fonts. Furthermore, the UTF-8 characters all fit into 4-bytes. Closes: #6264
