+ Start cell on new line unless it's a single Para or Plain.
+ For single Para or Plain, insert a space after the `|` to
avoid problems when the text begins with a character like
`-`.

update syntax for Images/Media files in MediaWiki
|
|
The preferred syntax for Images and other media is in MediaWiki since v1.14 (2008). is deprecated but still works as an alias to the File namespace. I don't think this would break any existing wikis since talk of switching the syntax/namespace for images started back in 2002 (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T2044). NS_FILE became the new namespace for Files in v 1.14 in late 2008. (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Release_notes/1.14) There is still a namespace alias so still works today. It's just that MediaWiki supports other media as well, and so the name and syntax used in documentation (see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Images) has long been

This change improves output formatting of content with a large amount of force line breaks, such as line-blocks. The following writers are affected:
* Dokuwiki
* HTML
* EPUB (via HTML)
* LaTeX
* MediaWiki
* OpenDocument
* Texinfo
This commit resolves #1924
|

Previously these were rendered as bare words, even if the URL
was not an absolute URL.
Closes #1825.

Closes #1445. Escapes can still be used with `<code>`
and `<pre>`.

To avoid to pass opts explicitly around (as we
do not use it very much at the moment anyway)

Remove parens enclosing a single element.

Textile, MediaWiki, Markdown, Org, RST will emit raw HTML div tags for divs.
Otherwise Div and Span are "transparent" block containers.
|
|
|
|
Currently these are "transparent" containers, except in HTML,
where they produce div and span elements with attributes.

* Text.Pandoc.Writers.Shared contains shared functions used
only in writers.
* metaToJSON now takes a WriterOptions parameter, and will
return an empty object if standalone is not specified.
|
|
Previously if you set a value both in metadata and with a variable,
they'd be combined into a list. Now the variable replaces the
value in document metadata. If many variables with the same
name are set, a list is created.
Shared: metaToJSON now has an argument for a variable list.
|
|
This way explicitly specified fields not overridden.
Fixes a problem e.g. with specifying a documentclass via
the command line using -V.
|
|
* Depend on pandoc 1.12.
* Added yaml dependency.
* `Text.Pandoc.XML`: Removed `stripTags`. (API change.)
* `Text.Pandoc.Shared`: Added `metaToJSON`.
This will be used in writers to create a JSON object for use
in the templates from the pandoc metadata.
* Revised readers and writers to use the new Meta type.
* `Text.Pandoc.Options`: Added `Ext_yaml_title_block`.
* Markdown reader: Added support for YAML metadata block.
Note that it must come at the beginning of the document.
* `Text.Pandoc.Parsing.ParserState`: Replace `stateTitle`,
`stateAuthors`, `stateDate` with `stateMeta`.
* RST reader: Improved metadata.
Treat initial field list as metadata when standalone specified.
Previously ALL fields "title", "author", "date" in field lists
were treated as metadata, even if not at the beginning.
Use `subtitle` metadata field for subtitle.
* `Text.Pandoc.Templates`: Export `renderTemplate'` that takes a string
instead of a compiled template..
* OPML template: Use 'for' loop for authors.
* Org template: '#+TITLE:' is inserted before the title.
Previously the writer did this.

|
|
* In markdown reader, add a '\1' character to the beginning
of the title of an image that is alone in its paragraph,
if implicit_figures extension is selected.
* In writers, check for Para [Image alt (src,'\1':tit)] and treat
it as a figure if possible.
* Updated tests.
This is a bit of a hack, but it allows us to make implicit_figures
an extension of the markdown reader, rather than the writers.
|
|
Previously header ids were autogenerated by the writers.
Now they are generated (unless supplied explicitly) in the
markdown parser, if the `header_identifiers` extension is
selected.
In addition, the textile reader now supports id attributes on
headers.

There's no particular need for a newline (other than making the
generated MediaWiki source look nice to a human), and in fact
sometimes it is incorrect: in particular, inside an enumeration, list
items cannot have embedded newline characters.

Additional related changes:
* URLs in Code in autolinks now use class "url".
* Require highlighting-kate 0.2.8.2, which omits the final <br/> tag,
essential for inline code.
|
|
The old TeX, HtmlInline and RawHtml elements have been removed
and replaced by generic RawInline and RawBlock elements.
All modules updated to use the new raw elements.
|
|
|
|
The new rule: If the link target is an absolute URL, an external
link is created. Otherwise, a wikilink is created.
Examples:
1. [label](/foo/bar) => label
2. [label](foo) => label
3. [label](http://gitit.net/foo) => label
Note on 1: We strip the leading / here, since otherwise we get a
link to Help:Links/foo/bar. would it be better for 1 to become
label? Perhaps, since this would
guarantee the same link destination as you'd get if you used the
HTML writer directly.

* These options now imply -s; previously they worked also
in fragment mode.
* Users can now adjust position of include-before and
include-after text in the templates.
* Default position of include-before moved back (as it
originally was) before table of contents.
* Resolves Issue #217.

This is too English-centric. Writers can provide their own
header at the end of the document.

= head = is now level 1, == head == level 2, etc.
This seems to be correct; it's only by convention that
wikipedia articles have level 2 headers at most.

Removed writerIncludeAfter, writerIncludeBefore, writerTitlePrefix,
writerHeader. Removed corresponding fields of Options structure
in pandoc.hs. The options now set template variables (writerVariables)
instead.

Definition lists are now more compatible with PHP Markdown Extra.
Resolves Issue #24.
+ You can have multiple definitions for a term (but still not
multiple terms).
+ Multi-block definitions no longer need a
column before each block (indeed, this will now cause
multiple definitions).
+ The marker no longer needs to be flush with the left margin,
but can be indented at or two spaces. Also, ~ as well as :
can be used as the marker (this suggestion due to David
Wheeler.)
+ There can now be a blank line between the term and
the definitions.
